Grandparents Play Larger Role in CoParenting Children with Autism

Preliminary results from a survey conducted by the Interactive Autism Network, found that grandparents play a key role in both the financial and emotional upbringing of children with autism. More than half of the individuals surveyed reported that they had contributed towards their grandchild’s health care costs. Additionally, thirty percent of the grandparents were the first to notice the child’s developmental difficulty.
