Amigos for Kids: ING Celebrity Domino Night

Amigos for Kids is a non-for profit organization that raises money to help children who have been abused, abandoned, and less fortunate children. Every year they hold a Domino event where everyone who registers can dine, dance, and play dominos with Miami celebrities from local television channels, politics, and community leaders. This year the event will be held at Jungle Island on July 19th, 2010 starting at 8:00pm. Tickets are $150.00 when bought in advance and $175.00 if bought at the door. Children’s Book Week online has something for everyone; including parents, children, and  professionals! You can play games, solve puzzles, join contests, and find out about new books. The site features Children’s Choice Book Awards, a national child chosen book award program. It is great to know what books are recommended for your kids by kids! Currently there are no local events here in Miami. But if you live outside Miami, make sure to check if they will be hosting an event near you! Better Hearing & Speech Month is Here!

May is Better Hearing and Speech Month. This nation-wide event is hosted by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). We will be hosting FREE events at early childhood education facilities.  That will include: hearing screenings and parent consultations. Additionally, parent outreach events and faculty training sessions are available upon request. These consultations and trainings offer a great opportunity for parents and teachers to meet with us for any questions and/or concerns regarding their children’s skills in the areas of communication and education. As part of the faculty training exercises, we can address popular topics such “child communication development” and “early literacy development”. Please take advantage of these free services. This event only happens once a year! To schedule an appointment for a hearing screening and/or a consultation please contact us. If you child’s school can benefit from these free services, feel free to recommend us and have them call us for more information. Space is limited, so hurry!
